Rationale :
The islands of Seram, kelang, Manipa and Buano have wide potential resources of the coastal area with the appropriate marine water quality suitable for seaweed culture. Various species of seaweed has naturally grown and used by the local people as the traditional foods.
Cottoni is the common and most popular species that cultivated in the area, because it’s having high economic value. The coastal area of Seram island have a huge potencies for seaweed cultivation but haven’t been exploited. This comodity has been developed by the people ini west seram regency and east seram regency, it shown a good result. From the research of LIPI Ambon, it known that seaweed that growing in the East Seram region consist of high cotents of karagenan. But the lack of capital and market caused this comodity can’t be developed largely by the farmer. Therefore it need investor to support the local farmer to developed their comodity.

1. To exploiting potency of the coastal area within Seram IEDZ

To help Local farmer in marketing and developing their seaweed cultivations

Diversification of the main activity of work to the seaweed cultivation.
Project Scope :
Socialization to the local farmer, training of seaweed culture and post harvest, warehouse and office building development, and implementation of seaweed culture development
